Hi, I'm Unai Laguarta
I've been creative my whole life — drawing, painting, photography. Design wasn't a career choice, it was the natural next step. With 2 years of experience across UX/UI, HMI and branding — from automotive interfaces at Cupra to digital products and visual identities — what sets me apart is that I don't just design: I build. Being technical means I understand constraints, speak the same language as developers, and push ideas further than a mockup ever could.
I'm currently completing a UX/UI Master at UNIR because I'm genuinely ambitious about where this field is going. New technology, AI as a creative tool, constantly pushing myself.
End-to-end design of gamification concepts for connected and intelligent vehicles. Built immersive VR experiences using Unity, prototyping interactive worlds from scratch. AI-driven experimentation within an agile, multidisciplinary team of developers, designers, and engineers. Qualified for the 2nd Phase of Cupra Gamified Car — writing the script and designing a user-centred narrative.
Visual content for social media, events, and promotional materials across two academic institutions. Developed and maintained a cohesive visual identity for CITM and UPC — covering posters, digital campaigns, editorial layouts, and web assets. Worked independently managing multiple concurrent briefs with tight timelines and consistent brand alignment.
HMI validation for Cupra and SEAT digital cockpits, embedded within an automotive engineering team at OEM level. Ensuring quality and consistency of UI implementation across infotainment systems and instrument cluster displays. Working directly with product teams to identify interaction issues, document findings, and support design iteration cycles.
UX and HMI research for industrial machine interfaces and automotive systems. Benchmarking existing interfaces, synthesising user insights, and translating findings into design reports and visual outputs. Work spans both early-stage research and concrete design deliverables, bridging discovery and execution within tight project timelines.
